General Strike in Argentina Paralyzes Transportation

A general strike called by the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) for Thursday, February 19, is heavily impacting public transportation across the country. The strike is in protest of the labor reform pushed by the government of Javier Milei. With the official adherence of the Union of Transport Workers (UTA), train, subway, and the vast majority of bus services are paralyzed. However, in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), compliance is not total. A dissident sector, mainly led by the powerful DOTA group, decided not to join the strike and is keeping dozens of lines operational on their regular schedule. According to the 'Ciudad de Bondis' platform (updated at 11:28 AM on Wednesday), the following lines are operating with 'normal service': 6, 7, 8, 9, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 28, 31, 32, 44, 50, 51, 56, 57, 60, 76, 78, 79, 80, 84, 91, 100, 101, 106, 107, 108, 111, 115, 117, 127, 128, 130, 134, 135, 146, 150, 158, 161, 164, 168, 177, 188, 263A, 271, 277, 283, 299, as well as several provincial and municipal lines.
